The upright bass and piano duo Farrell & Nicolls celebrate songs from the American Popular Songbook including classic favorites such as “Autumn Leaves”, “All The Things You Are”, “Someday My Prince Will Come”, “Take the A-Train” and expand their repertoire into traditional songs with flavorful rhythms from Latin America such as “Blue Bossa”, “Black Orpheus” and “Wave”. The duo performs elegant interpretations of the songs with a solid rhythmic sensibility and foot tapping is encouraged! The elegance, mood, wit and beautiful melodies of some of the numbers will conjure up images of a simpler time and bring back memories of the swing era during its heyday.

These two musicians have been performing for audiences, events and customers with discerning tastes for over 25 years and pride themselves on their understanding of what it means to carefully create the perfect musical accompaniment for any occasion. After awhile listeners began requesting copies of their program only to be told that none existed. A light bulb went off and the decision was made. This was about to change.

Peter Farrell (piano) and Patrick Nicolls (bass) released their first record "Penny in my shoes" featuring tunes such as Autumn Leaves, Blue Bossa, Stardust and an assortment of favorites from the real book. Audiences received the record with enthusiasm and the album sold out quickly. In October, the duo began working on their second release, which featured Latin flavored interpretations of classic standards such as Angel Eyes, A-Train, A Shadow of Your Smile, as well as, a lovely rendition of the Christmas favorite " God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman". The album was mastered by Sony and picked up for distribution by Sony BMG. An aggressive ad campaign is scheduled for the late fall through '06 and records are expected to be in stores around country in November.

REVIEWS AND QUOTES:

The charismatic charm of Peter Farrell and Patrick Nicolls really took my event to a new level. There are many duo's out there but none like this. The casual style and hip way of approaching standards really delighted my family and friends. Days after the party I found myself humming melodies from the special moments of the evening. How can you put a price on such fine talented musicians ...

When my fiance and I first considered some music at our engagement dinner, Patrick Nicolls came highly recommended to us. The night was an affair to remember. The music was so subtle yet so mezmorizing . Even with all the chatters and clanging of utensils the sound just seem to find it's way when needed. When you are having an event or fundraisier Farrell and Nicolls are the best in our eyes. Thank you to Patrick and Peter. All our very best, Mark and Christine
